My child can't focus and doesn't listen. I don't know if they're ready for training...

Our instructors will work with your child to help improve their focus, attention span, and ability to listen to directions the first time. Our belt system encourages children to listen the first time and focus outside of class by setting standards that they need to meet for their promotion.

My child is shy or uncoordinated. Will they be able to participate in your martial arts classes?

Martial Arts is a great way for children to practice skills and drills that will help them develop their balance and coordination. Our Tiny Tiger classes for 3-4 year olds and our Little Dragon classes for 5-6 year olds use running, jumping, ducking, and other exercises to practice gross motor skills. Regardless of a student's ability and skill level they are encouraged to try their best and students are praised for doing their personal best, not how well they do compared to others in the class.

Our instructors are also excellent at getting everyone involved in class regardless of how confident or shy they are. By practicing their martial arts techniques and motor skills children will improve their confidence at performing specific actions. As they see themselves improving in these specific actions their overall confidence is also improved.

Do I need experience to start?

Our classes are open to students of all skill levels and experience levels. You do not need any experience to start learning martial arts.

I'm worried about myself or my child getting hurt in classes...

Participating in martial arts classes is like participating in an organized sport. The risk of injury is no greater than other sports like soccer, basketball, or baseball. Furthermore, childen must wait a minimum of 1 year before they start sparring. For adults the sparring classes are optional.
